PUMA Drop The King Ultimate 'Tattoo'

Silky and seductive in its execution, PUMA have dropped the King Ultimate ‘Tattoo’ edition, which features a subtle design inspired by the ink that players often display, as well as the heritage of the King line itself.

If you like it traditional and classic, but still with a little bit of flair, you won’t go wrong with the limited edition PUMA King Ultimate x Tattoo – an understated design that that takes inspiration from how footballers use tattoos as storyboards of their lives and careers. With the iconic King as a canvas of creativity, PUMA set about telling the story of this famous football boot’s history and heritage through a full tattooed design across the upper.

At first glance it’s a traditional black presentation with accents of chrome throughout. But a closer look reveals images and words (representing tattoos) that relate to the history of the iconic King football boot. Embedded throughout are crowns, the word KING, the year in which PUMA boots entered the game, and a Lion’s head. You’d be forgiven for thinking that it would result in a busy upper, but the black keeps things subtle, revealing its intricacy on closer inspection, while the flair is saved for the Formstripe branding, which rides down the side of the boot, showing off the tattoo elements in a more brash fashion.

Nothing new tech-wise, so still constructed from that K-Better material, offering the same signature touch, comfort, and durability that the King is renowned for, despite being non-animal based (no leather here), meaning its a environmentally conscious upper material. Embossed grooves in the forefoot area then improve the feel and control on the ball.
