Adidas delve into the archives to draw inspiration for their latest drop, revealing the newest addition to its limited collection roster: Predator +TEAMGEIST. Inspired by the iconic 2006 World Cup Ball, the boot launches in the latest Predator 25 with some classic +TEAMGEIST visual designs.
Football fans remember that classic gold,black and white colourway of the 2006 World Cup +TEAMGEIST ball, it saw us through an incredible tournament full of goals, penalty shootouts and headbutts. Adidas now gift us with some ’06 nostalgia through their latest drop, re-booting that tournament feel with a new +TEAMGEIST Predator.
The boot arrives as the latest model of Predator in the 25, and is given the special +TEAMGEIST design treatment with some updated visuals and haptics. The upper consists of a white base, while gold hues adorn the sole plate and adidas logo on the fold-over tongue. The esteemed three stripes that cascade down the side of the boot are fashioned in a classic black, as are the laces, paired with the golden accents that run throughout the upper. Further nods to the ball can be seen vie a +TEAMGEIST sign that id printed onto the lateral side of the boot, as well as the word ‘Predator’ and ‘2006’ which is stamped onto the elastic band of the tongue.
As like all Predator 25 models, the latest drop arrives with the upgraded STRIKESKIN on the upper, re-engineered to enhance grip and control between the boot and the ball. The HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0 upper makes a return, using less layers in order to reduce break-in time and provide a more moulded fit.
Former adidas Predator player and Spain legend, Raúl, played a part in bringing the boot to life with striking campaign imagery and video. Talking about the latest +TEAMGEIST inspired launch, he said: “My relationship with the adidas Predator is a very special one. It’s the boot I wore during so many incredible moments of my career, and the boot in which I scored so many goals. The Predator +TEAMGEIST takes the best of the Predator and blends it with one of my favourite World Cup balls and the result is a thing of beauty. I hope fans love it as much as I do.”
The Predator +TEAMGEIST has already been spotted on the feet of some of the biggest names in the game right now, including Jude Bellingham, Pedri and Morata. It will also be worn by Ballon D’or winner Aitana Bonmati.
The boot will be launched alongside a re-release of the TEAMGEIST Official Match Ball, which will also be available in limited numbers.
