Mbappé Gives Us A First Look As Nike Reveal Upcoming Nike Mercurial Superfly Air Max 95

Kylian Mbappé has given the first look of the upcoming Nike Superfly Air Max 95 as Nike finally launch the highly anticipated boot. A sneaker that had taken over the streets is now beginning a new chapter to dominate the pitch, and who better to debut them than a World Cup final hattrick scorer. Nike have hit all the marks here.

One of the most rumoured boots of the year has finally arrived, with french star Kylian Mbappé giving us the first peak. During yesterday's training in preperation for the big clash against Valencia, the Real Madrid forward was spotted debuting an unreleased pair of Superfly's with an innovative new design unlike any we have ever seen on the silo. But now, we see them clear as day, as Nike finally reveal the Mercurial Superfly AM95.

The Air Max 95, designed by Sergio Lozano, was an innovative look when it first dropped in 1995, with visible air units in the forefoot unlike anything anyone had seen before. It’s aggressive, futuristic aesthetic broke away from traditional sneaker designs and brought a bold new look. Made even more popular by the Brazil national football team, a side at the very peak of their powers, who continued to bring the good vibes whilst donning these sneaks. They became a symbol of worldwide streetwear culture, from the Favela’s to South London streets, it didn’t matter where you lived – everyone wanted a pair of these. That symbol still lives on to this day. Therefore, there was no better time for Nike to transform the AM95 into a staple on the pitch.

The Superfly is styled in the classic AM95 design, with its layered muscle-fibre inspired upper in the classic “Black/Neon Yellow/Anthracite/Lt” colourway seen on the original sneakers. This isn’t the first time this colourway has adorned a boot silo though, as the iconic Hypervenom saw a similar look once upon a time. The renowned Gripknit upper usually seen on the Superfly sees a slight transformation to make way for slick black design at the toe. Neon yellow accents pop across the Nike Swoosh on the heel, as well as appearing more subtly underneath the knit material on the upper. Adorning the higher tongue of the boot resides the esteemed Air Max logo, redesigned to say Air Zoom – displaying the fusion of Air Max Sneaker and Air Zoom Mercurial. The innovative spine-design soleplate (a new addition to the latest model of Mercurial) is lit up in neon, whilst subtle branding of ‘Nike Air’ and the years 1995 and 2025 can be seen amongst the stud patterns.
