adidas Launch The 2019 Women's World Cup KO Ball

Dropping a new design into play for the big games, adidas have revealed the official match ball for the knockout phase of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France. The Tricolore 19 pays homage to the host nation and is inspired in name and design by the Official Match Ball of the 1998 World Cup which saw the French became world champions on home soil.

The Tricolore 19 debuts on pitch tomorrow during the first rounds of the last 16 replacing the design used in the Group Stage, albeit on the same ball – so its first appearance will be in Grenoble where Germany take on Nigeria for a place in the Quarter Finals. It'll remain on pitch right up until the final in Lyon on July 7.

The Tricolore 19 will be also distributed to communities in France to help develop the next generation of World Cup players, which is a nice touch. The Tricolore 19 will also be seen at the Equal Playing Field Festival of Football in Lyon, where it will be part of an attempt to create the largest football match ever by bringing together aspiring young players from all over the world.
