adidas Reveal KONEKTIS – The Official Match Ball Of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025

Ahead of the draw for the tournament, adidas has revealed ‘KONEKTIS’ – the Official Match Ball of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. Inspired by the tournament’s host nation, the colourful design incorporates references to the famous topography of the Swiss mountains, alongside iconography of prominent architectural landmarks from each of the eight host cities.

With the countdown to the tournament approaching six months, and hype building with the impending draw, adidas has unveiled the Official Match Ball of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, and it’s called ‘KONEKTIS’. Drawing inspiration from the Esperanto word for ‘connected’, KONEKTIS embodies the spirit of connection that will define this tournament – played across eight host cities in Switzerland, all within close proximity of one another.

Visually, the design is a tribute to Switzerland’s stunning natural and architectural landscapes. A pearlescent backdrop sets the stage for bold, jagged-edge block patterns in striking red, blue, purple, orange, and green tones – reflecting the silhouette of the Alps. Each panel is adorned with bespoke graphics showcasing iconic landmarks from the host cities, including Basel’s City Hall, the Bern Clock Tower, the Geneva Water Jet, Lucerne’s Chapel Bridge, St. Gallen Cathedral, Sion’s Tourbillon Castle, Thun Castle, and Zürich’s Opernhaus.

More than just a visual statement, KONEKTIS is engineered for peak performance. The ball features PRECISIONSHELL, a 20-panel construction designed to optimise ball control and accuracy. With strategically placed debossed grooves on the outer shell, it enhances airflow and delivers pinpoint precision, both on the training pitch and under matchday pressure.

Inside, KONEKTIS packs CTR-CORE – a cutting-edge system that ensures superior shape retention and consistent flight for fast, accurate play. The ball also integrates adidas' CONNECTED BALL TECHNOLOGY for the first time in a Women’s EURO, marking a leap forward in how technology enhances the game.

At its heart, a suspension system stabilises a 500Hz inertial measurement unit (IMU) motion sensor, offering real-time data on every aspect of the ball's movement. Powered by a rechargeable battery, the sensor communicates precise ball information to video match officials, enabling faster, more accurate in-match decisions. When paired with player tracking data and AI-assisted insights, it helps officials quickly resolve contentious moments like handballs and penalties. Developed in collaboration with Kinexon, adidas' Connected Ball Technology promises a new level of accuracy and efficiency in the officiating process.

Nadine Kessler, UEFA Managing Director, Women’s Football, said: "UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 will be another accelerator in the unstoppable rise of women’s football – offering a truly connected competition experience for everyone that attends. KONEKTIS brings this to life perfectly and to see adidas Connected Ball Technology on-pitch for the first time at a UEFA Women’s EURO will be a pivotal moment and reflects our collective commitment to continued excellence across every element of the tournament.”

To officially unveil the KONEKTIS ball, adidas took Swiss national team captain, Lia Wälti, to the Ottmar Hitzfeld Arena in Gspon – a remote mountain village nestled 2,000 metres above sea level. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss Alps, the stadium is Europe’s highest football pitch, making it the perfect location for Lia to reflect on the significance of competing in her home country.

Lia Wälti, Arsenal midfielder and national team captain, said: “Switzerland means home, family and peace to me. It means an incredible amount to me to host a tournament in my own country. It’s something I never actually dreamed of as a child and it’s wonderful that I will get to play in front of my family, my friends, in my home country, and in front of our own fans.”
