adidas Reveal MLS 2025 Official Match Ball Design

Getting ready for what is set to be a big season, adidas has revealed the official match ball for the 2025 Major League Soccer campaign, with a design that harks back to the first-ever MLS match ball.

2025 is quite the marker for Major League Soccer. Although a ball wasn’t kicked in anger under the MLS banner until 1996, it was officially formed in February 1995 as a limited liability company. So you can see why the league are keen to celebrate, probably this and next season. But as well as it being the 30th anniversary of the existence of the league, it’s also the 20th anniversary of adidas as MLS ball maker. And it’s all marked with the official match ball for the 2025 season.

The new adidas MLS 2025 ball brings a nostalgic touch, drawing on the iconic colours of the original MLS logo, which was used from 1996 to 2014. Predominantly white, the ball features vibrant green and blue design accents, harking back to the hues that defined the league’s early years. This marks a return to the classic colours, last seen on the 2020 MLS ball celebrating the 25th anniversary of the league, now reintroduced to commemorate MLS's 30th year.

In terms of design, the adidas MLS 2025 ball pulls inspiration from every major adidas ball since the 2006 season, with standout nods to the Teamgeist and Jabulani models. As for the tech, it’s business as usual with the 2025 edition, mirroring the specs of the 2024 ball, both of which are based on the adidas Euro 2024 match ball.
