Football News - Analysis proves Hart should be England keeper - 12/01/10

According to the latest Castrol rankings, friend of the SoccerBible Joe Hart should be included in Fabio Capello s World Cup squad because he is the best performing English goalkeeper!

The current Castrol Rankings show that Birmingham City's Joe Hart has risen up to No.28 in the overall Rankings, and far ahead of any of his rivals to the England goalkeeper position, Chris Kirkland (263), Rob Green (275), David James (354) and Paul Robinson (451). Hart's superb recent form means he is also now ranked as the third-best keeper in the 5 major European leagues:

Top 5 Ranked English Goalkeepers

28. Joe Hart 781 points
263. Chris Kirkland 616 pts
275. Rob Green 612 pts

Joe Hart, who we got to sit down with and interview earlier this year has been putting in some great displays that have been instrumental in Birmingham City's recent great run of form, who are now unbeaten in the Premier League since late October.

The Castrol Rankings are the world's first rankings based on the actual performance of every football player across Europe's top five leagues. They are calculated by objectively measuring each individual action performed on the field. For goalkeepers this includes clean sheets, saves, distribution and goals conceded (including where the shot came from).
